Bobhopeornohope (Westerner) winning at Dromahane

Six Figure Sales For Westerner And Milan

A debut win at Dromahane saw Bobhopeornohope (4g Westerner - Bandelaro, by Beneficial) rewarded with a winning bid of £105,000 at Friday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale.

The Cormac Doyle-trained bay will now transfer into the care of Kim Bailey, who purchased the four-year-old with agent Aiden Murphy. There was plenty to like about Bobhopeornohope’s point-to-point success, with he and runner-up Black Gerry (Westerner) drawing eight lengths clear of the third horse.

Milan was another Coolmore national hunt stallion to sire a six-figure lot, with Donald McCain going to £100,000 for Chuvelo (4g Milan - Bargante, by Phardante), who was offered by Sam Curling’s Skehanagh Stables.

The bay appealed on pedigree, being a full-brother to Munster National winner and Aintree Grand National third Double Seven, but it was his debut performance a few days prior which sealed the deal. Ridden by Harley Dunne in the Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Sales Bumper, he led approaching the final furlong and was just headed on the line.
