World Of Fortunes (Soldier of Fortune) Wins The Listed Novice Hurdle At Limerick

Soldier Of Fortune Mare Completes Hat-Trick In Listed Hurdle

Saturday saw World Of Fortunes (6m Soldier Of Fortune – Rose Of The World, by Vinnie Roe) complete a black-type double for Coolmore NH sires at Limerick when landing the Listed novice hurdle under Jordan Gainford.

The Liam Kenny-trained mare won her first two starts over hurdles and was sent off favourite to extend her perfect record against geldings. Positioned in second for much of the way, she improved to lead before the penultimate flight and was ridden clear approaching the last. She kept on well on the run-in to score by six lengths, with another two lengths back to A Tipp For Gold (Westerner) in third.

Speaking after the race, the trainer’s son James said, “She is improving the whole time and there are bright things ahead. Jordan had done a lot of work with her and was brilliant today. She'll now have to be campaigned in those staying novice mares’ graded races.”

Also successful in a bumper, World Of Fortunes has won four of her six career starts. Owned by Michael Broderick, the Soldier Of Fortune mare was bred by Kieran Cotter.
