Son Of Flemensfirth Lands Valuable Fairyhouse Chase

The Jessica Harrington-trained Impact Factor (7g Flemensfirth - Hello Kitty, by Houmayoun) ran out an easy winner of the Grade B Boylesports Novice Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Runner-up at Grade 2 level over hurdles, the Roubcour-owned bay had been placed over fences on numerous occasions this season, with a maiden chase victory remaining elusive. Facing eight rivals for the €50,000 contest, he was positioned behind the leaders by Robbie Power and improved to take second four from home. Disputing after the next, he asserted at the second last and stayed on well to win by five and a half lengths.

The Punchestown Festival may now be on the agenda for Impact Factor, who was purchased privately by connections after finishing second in a bumper for Paddy Twomey. Bred by W.T. Murphy, the €41,000 store is a full-brother to Tango Boy (Flemensfirth), who won on debut in March.
