Emperor Of The Sun (Galileo) Wins The Listed Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown

Son Of Galileo Shines In Saval Beg Stakes

Emperor Of The Sun (4c Galileo - Zouzou, by Redoute’s Choice) entered Ascot Gold Cup calculations when running out an impressive winner of the Listed Saval Beg Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown.

Chasing the leader under Gavin Ryan, Donnacha O’Brien’s charge led from the three furlongs marker and was ridden to extend his advantage a furlong later. Running on strongly, he won by three and a half lengths as dual Irish Leger heroine Search For A Song (Galileo) did her best to narrow the gap.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “It seems as though the further Emperor Of The Sun goes, the better he gets. He keeps going so we could go to the Gold Cup now and he might be even better over that trip. He seems to be improving and that was a real test of stamina there today.”

A Coolmore homebred, Emperor Of The Sun was previously placed twice in Stakes company. The son of Galileo is a half-brother to Zoustar, while his three-year-old full-brother Kondo Isami (Galileo) has won his last two starts for Mark Johnston.
