D B Cooper (Getaway) Wins On Debut At Ballyknock

Son Of Getaway Delivers On Debut

The Sean Doyle-trained D B Cooper (4g Getaway - Swiss Bliss, by Presenting) shaped like a smart prospect when making a winning debut in the Four-Year-Old Geldings Maiden at Ballyknock.

Jamie Scallan rode the chesnut to chase the leaders and improved to dispute three from home. Challenged at the final fence, he kept on well on the run-in to win by two lengths, with the front pair finishing 30 lengths clear of the field.

A trip to the sales is now on the cards for D B Cooper, who was bred by Mrs Martina Doran. The son of Getaway is a grandson of black-type hurdler Swiss Hall (Saddlers’ Hall).
