Son Of Gleneagles Delivers On Second Start
Bold Optimist (3g Gleneagles - Katy Spirit, by Invincible Spirit) took a step forward on his second start to win Friday’s six furlong maiden at Dundalk.
The Michael McCullagh-trained bay finished a promising fifth on debut in July and was reunited with Oisin McSweeney on Friday evening. Racing prominently throughout, he was pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong and was ridden soon after. He ran on well when challenged to beat the favourite by a neck, with the pair finishing four lengths clear of the third.
Bold Optimist is owned by Chris Mullins and was bred by EJ O’Grady.
