Son Of Gleneagles Gains First Stakes Success
Cime Tempestose (3c Gleneagles - Hassaya, by King’s Best) completed a Stakes double for Coolmore sires at San Siro on Sunday when taking the Listed Premio d’Italia under Marco Ghiani.
The Alduino Botti-trained colt was ridden to track stablemate Frozen Day, who was last seen finishing third in the Derby Italiano. Switched to challenge three furlongs from home, he ran on well to win by a length and three quarters.
“He is a very nice colt,” Ghiani commented after the race. “He stays well and has plenty of improvement in him.”
Cime Tempestose is owned by Stefano Botti and was bred by Turlough Boylan. The son of Gleneagles provides a very important update for his yearling full-sister.
