Son Of Gleneagles Gains Second Stakes Win
Sunday saw the lightly-raced Lajoscha (5h Gleneagles - Lady Linda, by Torrential) record his second Stakes success in the Listed Altano-Rennen at Hoppegarten.
The Andreas Wohler-trained bay won three of his four starts as a three-year-old, including in the Listed Grand Prix du Nord at Chantilly, in which subsequent Group 1 performer Baratti finished third. Listed-placed from just two starts last season, the son of Gleneagles was ridden to make all on return at Hoppegarten. Running on strongly when challenged in the straight, he won by a length and three quarters comfortably.
Bred by Litex Commerce, Lajoscha was purchased privately by Team Valor International after his first Stakes success.
At Longchamp earlier that day, Track Of Time (3g Gleneagles - South Sister, by Sakhee) produced a smart performance to win the ten furlong maiden on his second start for Francis-Henri Graffard.
The Ecurie De Montlahuc homebred made a promising debut a month earlier when finishing second to Devil In The Sky (Starspangledbanner) at Chantilly, and was reunited with Mickael Barzalona on Sunday. Racing in midfield for much of the way, he produced a challenge in the straight and ran on gamely to lead by a short neck on the line. The favourite, who holds Group 1 entries, finished another length back in third.
Track Of Time is a half-brother to dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 performer Jadoomi (Holy Roman Emperor).
