Jadoomi (Holy Roman Emperor) Wins The Group 2 Celebration Mile At Goodwood

Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Captures Group 2 Feature

Saturday saw Jadoomi (4g Holy Roman Emperor - South Sister, by Sakhee) record a second consecutive Stakes success in the Group 2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood.

Group 1 placed as a two-year-old and Listed-placed the following season, Simon and Ed Crisford’s charge made a winning return to action in a Listed contest at Clairefontaine last month. Partnered by William Buick on Saturday, the bay stumbled out of the gates, but recovered to chase the leader from the early stages and was shaken up approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden a furlong later, he kept on well to lead close home and scored by a neck, with another two and a half lengths back to the third.

Speaking after the race, Buick said, “He responded well when we got into a battle. It was a smooth race and he stuck his neck out well in the finish.”

Owned by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, Jadoomi was bred by Elevage Du Moratalla, Alban Chevalier Du Fau and Pierre-Hughes Henry. The son of Holy Roman Emperor is the best performer out of South Sister, whose two-year-old Track Of Time (Gleneagles) is in training with Francis-Henri Graffard.
