Rotten Row (Leading Light) Wins A Roscommon Bumper On Debut

Son Of Leading Light Delivers On Debut

The Joseph O’Brien-trained Rotten Row (4g Leading Light - Auspicious Outlook, by Oscar) justified strong market support on debut to take Tuesday’s bumper at Roscommon.

Sent off second favourite under Tom Hamilton, the Demi O’Byrne-owned bay made good headway approaching the two furlong marker and produced a challenge entering the final furlong. Running on strongly, he led inside the final 110 yards and won by a length and a half, going away.

Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Brendan Powell said, “Once Tom asked him, he lengthened out and he was doing his best work at the end. It was a nice debut, he's got a good future.”

From the second crop of Grange Stud sire Leading Light, Rotten Row was bred by Aidan Furlong.
