Son Of Mahler Gains Second Impressive Hurdle Success

Tardree (8g Mahler - Brownie Points, by Bob Back) proved a class above his rivals in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Stratford.

Laura Morgan’s charge drew 15 lengths clear on his previous start over hurdles and was well-supported to follow up under Bryan Hughes. Ridden to make all, he was travelling best of the field from the second last and extended his advantage on the run-in to win by 16 lengths.

“He's been fantastic for us,” Morgan later said of Tardree, who has also been successful in a bumper and twice over fences for owners Bennett and O’Brien. Bred by Thomas Maher, the son of Mahler was bought by current connections after winning a Tyrella point-to-point impressively for Colin McKeever.
