Get Out The Gate (Mahler) Wins Impressively At Perth

Son Of Mahler Now Two From Two Over Fences

Get Out The Gate (6g Mahler - Chartani, by King’s Theatre) is now two from two over fences, after running out a wide margin winner of Thursday’s three mile Novices’ Chase at Perth.

His chase debut a little over a week ago saw him beat hot favourite Commodore Barry at Ayr, the pair drawing 45 lengths clear of the rest of the field. That performance earned him favoritism for his next start, once again racing on good ground over three miles and ridden by Callum Bewley. Jumping well throughout, Get Out The Gate led from before halfway and went clear four from home, staying on strongly to score by 32 lengths.

Trained by Jim Goldie for Jim Fyffe and Stacey McQueen, Get Out The Gate was also a useful hurdler, finishing third in a Listed contest just last month. Bred by Michelle Claire Aherne, he learnt his trade with James Doyle, for whom he won his sole start in a Dawstown maiden by six lengths.
