Extra Elusive (Mastercraftsman) Wins The Gr.3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock

Son Of Mastercraftsman Captures Group 3 Contest

A change in tactics saw the talented Extra Elusive (5g Mastercraftsman - Nessina, by Hennessy) gain his first black-type success in Saturday’s Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock.

Hollie Doyle rode Roger Charlton’s charge to make virtually all of the running and began to quicken over two furlongs from home. Ridden clear inside the final furlong, the chesnut recorded a comfortable success by two and a quarter lengths.

The Imad Alsagar-owned winner was recorded his fourth career success, having also been placed in four Stakes races. Bred by Alsagar with Saleh Al Homaizi, the son of Mastercraftsman is a half-brother to Gimcrack Stakes victor Ajaya.
