Davids Charm Continues A Fantastic Weekend For Milan

Son Of Milan Completes Hat-Trick In Style

Davids Charm (8g Milan - Have More, by Haafhd) completed a hat-rick of wins when running out an impressive winner of the Grade 3 Horse & Jockey Hotel Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday.

The John J Walsh-trained bay was sent off favourite following his valuable wins on the flat and over hurdles, with Phillip Enright keeping the ride. Chasing the leaders for much of the way, he improved to lead from over two out and stayed on well to win by 12 lengths with ease.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer commented, “He'll run in the Cesarewitch next week. Philip said it was like a piece of work for him.” Owned by the TA O’Brien partnership, the son of Milan was bred where his sire stands, Grange Stud.

It topped a successful weekend for Milan, having also sired two four-year-old maiden winners on the return of the point-to-point season. First to oblige was the Denis Murphy owned and trained Gale At Sea (4m Milan - Gales Hill, by Beau Sher) who took the Mares Maiden at Toomebridge by six lengths.

The following day at Castletown-Geoghegan, Mr Josiey Wales (4g Milan - Balwaney, by Exit To Nowhere) overcame being hampered by a faller to win by three lengths. Trained by Colin Bowe, the bay was bred by Denis Robb out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Balapour.
