Iron Bridge (Milan) Wins At Tipperary

Son Of Milan Delights Connections On Debut

Iron Bridge (5g Milan - Chit Chat, by Bob Back) rewarded his trainer’s confidence when making a perfect start in the Nenagh point-to-point bumper at Tipperary on Wednesday.

Held up by John Barry, Damian Murphy’s charge was asked to quicken approaching three furlongs out and was ridden to lead before the final furlong. Despite showing signs of inexperience, the bay went clear in the closing stages and won by three lengths from the short-priced favourite Casey West (Westerner).

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “I don't know what'll happen him not but that's a lot of pressure off me thank god, because I've always loved this horse and was stone mad about him. He will have a future because he is a lovely horse to do anything with.”

Owned by Trevor Hemmings and bred by Sean Murphy, Iron Bridge sold for €58,000 as a three-year-old. The son of Milan provides an important update for his yearling full-brother.
