McFabulous (Milan) Wins The Grade 2 Select Hurdle At Sandown

Son Of Milan Ends The Season With Grade 2 Success

McFabulous (8g Milan - Rossavon, by Beneficial) made all to record a fifth Graded victory in Saturday’s Grade 2 Select Hurdle at Sandown.

Lorcan Williams asked the Paul Nicholls-trained bay to quicken from two out and his mount duly obliged, staying on well on the run-in to score by a length.

“A race like today is made for him really,” Nicholls later said. “He had a penalty but it was a good performance. He will be an exciting chaser. He would be a great one for the Kauto Star at Kempton next season and that would be our aim to work back from. It is a long way off but it is good to be thinking about things like that.”

Saturday marked a fourth Graded win over hurdles for the Giraffa Racing-owned gelding, who also won a Grade 2 bumper as a five-year-old. Bred by Vincent Finn, the son of Milan was bought by connections for €88,000 as a three-year-old.
