Son Of Milan Maintains Perfect Chase Record

Grade 1 hurdler Brewin’upastorm (6g Milan - Daraheen Diamond, by Husyan) made it two from two over fences when justifying favoritism in Thursday’s Novices’ Chase at Taunton.

Successful over two miles on his seasonal return last month, he stepped up a further two furlongs on his latest start, with regular partner Richard Johnson in the saddle. Racing close to the pace, he improved to lead five from home and was ridden approaching the second last. Staying on well, he won by four lengths, the front pair finishing well clear of the third.

Trained by Olly Murphy for Mrs Barbara Hester, Brewin’upastorm learnt his trade between the flags with Timmy Hyde, for whom he won his sole start impressively. Subsequently sold for £250,000, the Longrove Stud-bred bay is one of three black-type horses out of the mare Daraheen Diamond.
