Apache Star (2g No Nay Never - Instinctively, by Cape Cross) made a smart start for new connections when making all to win the six furlong novice stakes at Wolverhampton on Monday.

Partnered by William Carver, the son of No Nay Never was well-supported on his first start for the in-form Simon Hodgson yard. Ridden approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to beat the favourite by three and a quarter lengths.
