Pin Your Hopes Wins Her Maiden At Dundalk 1

Son Of Rock Of Gibraltar Hits The Target At Dundalk

A step up in trip saw the Andy Oliver-trained Pin Your Hopes (3g Rock Of Gibraltar - Izola, by Beat Hollow) get off the mark in Wednesday’s mile and a half maiden at Dundalk.

The JP Ledwidge-owned bay was ridden towards the back of the field by Conor Hoban and was pushed along to make good headway from over two furlongs out. Ridden to press the leaders entering the final furlong, he kept on well to lead close home and beat the favourite by three parts of a length.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “Pin Your Hopes had some solid form and it wasn't a surprise. He picked up well and I thought he won it quite nicely.”

Placed four times over shorter trips, Pin Your Hopes becomes the first winner bred by Peter and Hugh McCutcheon out of useful performer Izola.
