Son Of Walk In The Park Draws Clear In Bumper
Uncle Phil (5g Walk In The Park - Synthe Davis, by Saint Des Saints) built on a promising debut to run out an easy winner of Sunday’s bumper at Kilbeggan.
Second over course and distance last month, Willie Mullins’ charge was sent off favourite under Jody Townend and raced prominently for much of the two mile contest. Leading from three furlongs out, he boasted a clear advantage approaching the final furlong and went on to win by 14 lengths from a strung-out field.
Uncle Phil is owned by Mrs J Donnelly and becomes the first winner bred by Kieran Cotter out of Synth Davies. His four-year-old full-brother Helnwein (Walk In The Park) finished a promising third on debut behind Croke Park (Walk In The Park), with the latter subsequently sold for £400,000.
