Son Of Walk In The Park Stands Out At Goffs UK

Tom Malone described a son of Walk In The Park as “my standout of the sale” after stretching to £175,000 to secure Worthen Hall Stables’ offering at the Goffs UK Spring Store Sale.

After revealing that his purchase would join the stable of Paul Nicholls, Malone continued, “He’s a beautiful animal, a big, strong chasing type. I’ve been through all of the two-day catalogue and told Paul this is the one we should go to war on, so hopefully he’s lucky.”

The sire was another draw, the agent added, “Walk In The Park is doing great things so let’s hope this horse is one of the good ones.”

A €40,000 foal purchase by Willie Bryan, the bay benefitted from an update when full-brother Are You Wise To That (Walk In The Park) finished second on debut at Dromahane, which saw him sell for £125,000. He went on to make a winning start for Jonjo O’Neill in a bumper in March.

“That’s my best ever result,” the delighted Bryan said after the sale. “He was probably the perfect specimen and the page is alive, which is what you need. We’ve got plenty of Walk In The Parks at home and their constitution for work is brilliant, he’s a great stallion and his results are only going to get stronger and stronger.”
