Son Of Westerner Follows Up In Style

Cold Sobar (6g Westerner - Moyglass Lass, by Oscar) followed up last month’s impressive hurdle debut with a smart success in Saturday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Newcastle.

The son of Westerner gained his maiden win at Tallow for Paul Pierce and subsequently joined the Stuart Coltherd stable, for whom he drew 13 lengths clear on rules debut. Stepping up to two and a half miles at the weekend, he was ridden to make all by Sam Coltherd and was pushed along when challenged after the third last. Ridden clear on the run-in, he scored by three lengths and three quarters, as dual winner Sound And Fury (Milan) finished second.

Cold Sobar is owned by Mrs Debbie Crawford and was bred by Matthew Tynan.
