Son Of Westerner Goes One Better In Maiden Hurdle

The well-related Western Cowboy (5g Westerner - Aylesbury Park, by Old Vic) built on two promising performances to land Thursday’s maiden hurdle at Limerick.

Second on both his previous starts, Henry De Bromhead’s charge was sent off the even-money favourite and raced prominently throughout under Rachael Blackmore. Asserting at the second last, he was ridden out to win by a length and three quarters, as the front pair drew eight lengths clear of the field.
