Speedy Son Of Magna Grecia Gains Maiden Win

Mutasawi (3g Magna Grecia – Dikta Del Mar, by Diktat) became the latest first crop winner by Magna Grecia when taking Wednesday’s five furlong maiden at Kempton.

The David O’Meara-trained bay placed twice as a two-year-old and returned to finish third earlier this month. Sent off joint-favourite at Kempton, he raced in second under Oisin Murphy and was asked to quicken turning for home. Running on well, he led close home to win by half a length.

Owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, Mutasawi was bred by Corrin Stud and Upper Farm Stud. The €80,000 yearling buy hails from the first crop of Magna Grecia, who sired two Stakes horses last season.
