Narvaez (Vancouver) winning at Sandown

Stakes Goals for Vancouver 3YO

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Narvaez (3c Vancouver x Headway, by Charge Forward) was fit and ready to fire at his third run back from a spell at Sandown on Wednesday and got the job done in style.

Sent out favourite for the 1600m contest, Narvaez scored a length and a quarter win for Nash Rawiller carrying 60.5kg with connections likely to target stakes races in Tasmania over the summer.

Purchased by Gai Waterhouse Racing / Adrian Bott for $300,000 out of the Lime Country draft at Inglis Easter, Narvaez has won two races and placed three times from 10 starts earning just shy of $100,000 in prizemoney.

Bred by Makybe, Narvaez is the sixth foal and third winner from Headway who was honoured as the Champion 2YO Filly in Australia in 2008/09. Her career defining win came in the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes and she was runner-up in the Golden Slipper.

Narvaez is another nice winner for Golden Slipper winning sire Vancouver, who has 11 entries for Magic Millions 2021.
