Stakes Winner Mo Clare’s Continues Uncle Mo’s July Roll

Mo Clare’s (5m Uncle Mo x Claire’s Song, by Unbridled’s Song) became her sire’s fourth stakes winner this month on Monday when the mare won the Brookmeade Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths at Colonial Downs.

It was a front-running victory for the 5-year-old who broke strongly to take command in the 1 1/16 mile turf race and often had over a length on the field. By the time she hit the final furlong she had a three length advantage, giving her more than enough to seal the deal despite a late run by a rival.

Mo Clare’s is the winner of three of 15 starts with four other victories and $145,624 in earnings for Lothenbach Stables and trainer Chris Block. The mare was a $350,000 Fasig-Tipton 2-Year-Old purchase by her racing owners and was bred by Jim and Katie FitzGerald.

Mo Clare’s is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Elusive Mischief and a full sister to stakes-placed Tan and Tight. Her Grade III winning second dam is Chimichurri, who is also the granddam of Canadian Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot and Grade I winner Hard Not to Love.

Uncle Mo is the sire of seven stakes performers and four stakes winners out of Unbridled’s Song, led by Grade III winners Girl Daddy and Uncle Chuck.

Uncle Mo is the sire of nine stakes winners and 25 stakes performers overall this year with four stakes winners in July alone.
