Star Lots Set To Represent Churchill At Tattersalls Book 1

As the yearling sales move on to Newmarket, dual Guineas victor Churchill will hope his first yearlings continue their commercial success at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.

Top breeders will present a well-bred selection over the three days and Kildaragh Stud appear to have an intriguing Churchill colt in Lot 280. Out of dual Stakes winner Love And Bubbles, the April-born bay is a half-brother to Group 1 Tokyo Derby winner Deep Brillante and Group 3 runner-up Hubble Bubble. The also offer a Churchill half-brother to Listed winner History Writer as Lot 9.

Ringfort Stud has enjoyed a tremendous year on the track and will hope their success transfers to Tattersalls, where they offer a Churchill filly out of Listed winner Indigo Lady (Lot 218).

Another top breeder, Redpender Stud, offer a Churchill brother to their star graduates Toormore and Estidhkaar as Lot 113, while Bearstone Stud will have high hopes for their Churchill sister to Prix Robert Papin victor Tis Marvellous (Lot 330).

Lot 336A from The Castlebridge Consigment is expected to prove popular, as a Churchill half-sister to Group 1 Sprint Cup winner African Rose and Group 1 second Helleborine; the latter also known as the dam of Calyx. The same draft also includes a Churchill half-brother to Listed winner Stage Play, out of Stakes-winning half-sister to Group 1 sprinter Lesson In Humility (Lot 67).

Tally-Ho Stud’s Churchill filly (Lot 313) boasts a page littered with black-type, being a sister to four Stakes horses, led by Group 2 Premio Ribot winner Porsenna (Dylan Thomas). Ballylinch Stud, meanwhile, offer a half-brother to Group-placed juvenile Jubilation (Lot 154), out of a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Red Rocks (Galileo).

Book 1 follows on from the Goffs Orby Sale, where six of Churchill’s first yearlings sold for six-figure sums.
