Starspangledbanner ex Torentosa colt selling for €165,000 at Arqana

Starspangledbanner colt leads way at Arqana

A sensational Starspangledbanner colt stole the show on day two of the Arqana December Sale in Deauville on Sunday when selling to Peter and Michelle Morgan, who thought him the nicest foal they had seen all year.

Out of Torentosa, a half-sister to this year’s G1 Derby hero Wings Of Eagles (by Pour Moi), he boasted a current pedigree when offered by the late Marquesa de Moratalla’s breeding operations.

The Morgans, who run Carmel Stud in Britain, were delighted to strike the successful session-topping €165,000 bid and commented: “We loved him and think he is really special. He will be aimed at Book 1 in Tattersalls next year.”
