Aussie Girl (Starspangledbanner) Wins At Sligo

Starspangledbanner Filly Makes All To Maiden Victory

Aussie Girl (3f Starspangledbanner - Ravissante, by Galileo) made all to justify favouritism in the fillies and mares maiden at Sligo on Sunday.

Trained by Fozzy Stack for Peter Piller, the daughter of Starspangledbanner had earned prize money on her last three starts and dropped down to five and a half furlongs at the weekend. Ridden by Mark Enright, she was pushed along when challenged after the two furlong pole and kept on well when ridden soon after. Always in command, she led by a length and a half on the line.

Aussie Girl becomes the second winner bred by Airlie Stud out of the winning Galileo mare Ravissante.
