Ten Sovereigns Colt Remains Unbeaten In Grade 3 Stakes

Zulu Kingdom (2c Ten Sovereigns – Zindziswa, by Smart Strike) maintained a perfect record when making a winning start for new connections in the Grade 3 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga.

The second crop son of Ten Sovereigns was purchased privately following an impressive debut win at Saint-Cloud for Andre Fabre, and was well-supported ahead of his first start for Chad Brown. Tracking the leaders under Flavien Prat, he quickened when a narrow gap appeared in the straight and ran on well to deny the favourite by a neck, with another three lengths back to the third.

The winning rider commented, “He was very professional and brave enough to get through the hole. From there, he got the job done.”

“I've been so impressed with everything I put at him,” Chad Brown added. “He never missed a day of training since he came to me and I'm so proud of the way he put it together first time in the country.”

Zulu Kingdom is owned by Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, William Strauss, and Michael J. Caruso. He becomes the first Group/Graded winner bred by Ecurie Peregrine out of Zindwisa, whose progeny include Listed winner Zulu Warrior (Saxon Warrior).

He continues Ten Sovereigns’ smart start at stud, having sired 11 blacktype juveniles last year.
