Tough DC brings more Group race glory for Zoffany

Top-class sprinter Washington DC (4c Zoffany-How’s She Cuttin’, by Shinko Forest) added more black-type to his admirable record when winning the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Navan on Monday evening.

The Zoffany colt is now a stakes winner at two, three and four during a career that also saw him finish second in last season’s G1 Prix de l’Abbaye.

He was produced late by jockey Seamie Heffernan to get up on the line in the five-furlong event.

“Washington DC was the best horse in the race but all of Aidan's are going to improve. He'll probably mix it between five and six furlongs and hopefully there will be more than one big day in him,” commented Heffernan.

Washington DC was bred by Paul Hyland with Chris and James McHale.
