Silence Please Becomes The Latest Winner By Gleneagles

Two Winners In As Many Days For Gleneagles

Silence Please (2f Gleneagles - Crazy Volume, by Machiavellian) become the second maiden winner by her sire in as many days when making a winning debut at Gowran on Saturday.

Trained by the in-form Jessica Harrington for Mrs Patrick Cooper, the filly raced towards the back of the field for much of the seven furlong contest and began to improve from over two furlongs out. Switched left to challenge approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to lead inside the final furlong and score by a length and a half.

The winning trainer commented after the race, “Silence Please is one we liked at home and had been doing everything right. She's related to the likes of Plinth so she'll stay and she's a lovely big filly.”

Silence Please is, indeed, a half-sister to Plinth (Montjeu), as well as top-class stayer Galiante (Montjeu), and was bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud.
