Unbeaten Son Of Gleneagles Bolts Up On Return
Jack Darcy (3g Gleneagles - Pretty Face, by Rainbow Quest) made an impressive return to make it two from two in Thursday’s novice stakes at Newbury.
Paul and Oliver Cole’s charge won his sole start at two, with the form of his debut victory having since improved. Stepping up to ten furlongs after a break, he was sent off second favourite under Neil Callan and took a keen hold behind the leaders. Leading as they approached the two furlong marker, he was ridden clear in the final furlong and went on to score by a comfortable four and a quarter lengths. The well-bred favourite, who won last time out, drew six and a half lengths clear of the third.
Owned by the Crypto Racing Club, the exciting son of Gleneagles was bred by Bernard Cooke.
