Uncle Mo Colt Wins G3 Saranac

West Hollywood (3c Uncle Mo x White Hot, by Galieo) secured his first career stakes victory on Friday with a win in the Grade III Saranac Stakes.

Making his stakes debut in the 1 1/16-mile turf race, the Brad Cox trainee spent much of the race as the back marker nearly five lengths off the leader. Making his move around the far turn, West Hollywood was coming strongly down the stretch and grabbed the lead just as an accident in the stretch occurred.

West Hollywood raced away to a 5 ½ length victory for his third win in five starts with his only non-top two finish coming when fourth on debut in England.

Bred by Bobby Flay, the colt races for Qatar Racing and has won his last two starts. Out of White Hoth, he is a half-brother to Grade I winner Pizza Bianca with the two the only runners out of their young Galileo dam.

White Hot is a half-sister to Group I Epsom Derby winner Pour Moi, full sister to stakes winners Dawn Patrol and Kissed and three-quarter sister to Group winners Gagnoa. Gagnoa produced two stakes winners herself and is the granddam of No Nay Never’s multiple stakes winner No Nay Mets.

Uncle Mo is the sire of five stakes winners alone in August, led by Adare Manor securing another Grade I victory earlier this month.
