Uncle Mo Filly Leads at Keeneland January

Uncle Mo’s Enaya Alrabb took over the Keeneland January sale lead late in the day on Tuesday when bringing $640,000 from James Schenck as agent.

Consigned by Paramount Sales, the Grade I-placed Enaya Alrabb has the family to succeed as a daughter of stakes winner and Grade II-placed Lotta Rhythm. Also the dam of Grade III-placed Hattaash, Lotta Rhythm comes from a proven family as the half-sister to Listed winner and Grade II-placed Lotta Kim, better known as the dam of Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra.

During her two years on the track, Enaya Alrabb placed in two stakes including the Grade I Starlet Stakes from her four career starts. The filly was bred by Tony Holmes and Dr. & Mrs. Walter Zent, bringing $150,000 as a yearling at the Keeneland September Sale in 2017 before making her return to the ring Tuesday.

“That was on the top end (price wise),” said Pat Costello of Paramount Sales. “She was lovely, she didn’t turn a hair and she was a great racehorse. We were delighted, the owners are delighted. If you bring the goods here, you get well paid, maybe even paid more than you thought.”

Uncle Mo is posed to have another outstanding year with Eclipse finalists Bast and Mo Forza leading the charge of top horses he’ll have returning to the track in 2020.
