Up, up and away for Galileo

A trip to California for the Breeders’ Cup is on the cards for Up (3f Galileo-Halland Park Lass, by Spectrum) after the Galileo filly battled gamely to win the G2 Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. The G1 French 1,000 Guineas runner-up had won the G3 Lanwades Stud Fillies’ Stakes on her previous outing and she battled gamely to beat Caponata in the Blandford Stakes. “She's a tough filly,” said trainer Aidan O'Brien. “A mile and a quarter is as far as we thought she'd stay and Joseph was riding her to try and get the trip. We'll aim her now at the Breeders’ Cup Fillies And Mares (at Santa Anita). She's been quite busy lately so may not run again before that.”
