Pink In The Park (Walk In The Park) Wins The Mares Bumper At Punchestown

Walk In The Park Mare Defies Penalty At Punchestown

Pink In The Park (5m Walk In The Park - Pink Hat, by Presenting) reeled in the leader to record her second bumper success at Punchestown on Sunday.

An impressive debut winner in September, Willie Mullins’ charge had since placed at Listed level and was sent off favourite for the mares’ bumper, despite carrying a penalty. Positioned in midfield by Patrick Mullins, she improved into third with two furlongs left to race and was shaken up soon after. Chasing the clear leader, she was ridden inside the final furlong and ran on well to score by a length and a quarter.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “A nice weight carrying performance as she was giving the second horse 20lb. I think I’ll give her a break as she’s had a busy enough time and go jumping later in the season.

The daughter of Walk In The Park was bred by Mrs Jackie Mullins.
