Jetara (Walk In The Park) Wins The Listed Cailin Alainn Mares Hurdle At Limerick

Walk In The Park Mare Notches Another Black-Type Win

Grade 1 performer Jetara (6m Walk In The Park – Jelan, by Milan) made a winning return to action in Saturday’s Listed Cailin Alainn Mares Hurdle at Limerick.

The Jessica Harrington-trained mare was successful at both Listed and Grade 3 level before placing in three Grade 1 hurdles last season, including twice against geldings.

Sent off favourite on Saturday, she raced in touch under Donagh Meyler and took closer order from the third last. Pushed along to lead at the next, she was ridden out to deny a late challenge by a short head, with the pair finishing five and a half lengths clear of the remainder.

“It is great to ride a quality mare like this,” the winning rider commented. “It's not every day when you're flicking through form and see 'second to Ballyburn'. She switched off, stuck out her head and did what she had to do having jumped fluently throughout.”

It marked a fourth black-type win overall for Gerard McGrath’s homebred daughter of Walk In The Park.
