Walk In The Brise (Walk In The Park) Wins The Maiden Hurdle At Cork

Walk In The Park Mare Relishes Step Up In Trip

A step up in trip saw Walk In The Brise (6m Walk In The Park - Brise, Vendeenne, by Dom Alco) get off the mark over hurdles in impressive style at Cork on Saturday.

A winner and three times runner-up on all her starts in bumpers, the Willie Mullins-trained grey finished third last time out and was sent off favourite as she took on the geldings in the three mile maiden hurdle. Travelling strongly throughout under Paul Townend, she joined the leaders from three out and led before the next. Soon clear, she kept on strongly from the final flight to score by 13 lengths.

“It was very straightforward,” Paul Townend later confirmed. “She jumped like a buck and really stayed.”

Walk In The Brise is owned by breeders Dominic Burke with TD Syder. The daughter of Walk In The Park is the first foal out of Brise Vendeenne, who is a half-sister to Mullins’ multiple Grade 1 winner Vroum Vroum Mag.
