Well-Backed Calyx Colt Draws Clear On Debut
Line Of Force (2c Calyx – Ligne D’Amour, by Galileo) shaped like a smart juvenile when making an impressive debut at Ripon on Thursday.
The Karl Burke-trained colt was sent off favourite for the six furlong contest and raced in touch with the leaders under Shane Gray. The chesnut showed signs of greenness approaching the two furlong marker, but quickened to lead a furlong later. Running on well, he led by four lengths and three quarters on the line.
Owned by Zhang Yuesheng and bred under his Yulong Investments banner, Line Of Force is the first foal out of the unraced Galileo mare Ligne d’Amour. From the second crop of Calyx, he is bred on the same cross as Group 2 heroine Persian Dreamer (Calyx) and Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes third Eben Shaddad (Calyx).
