Milestone (Mastercraftsman) Wins At Chantilly

Well-Bred Son Of Mastercraftsman Makes His Mark

A step up in trip saw the Andre Fabre-trained Milestone (3c Mastercraftsman - Mission Secrete, by Galileo) go one better in the Prix de la Berline du Duc de Bourbon at Chantilly on Thursday.

Second over ten furlongs last month, his latest start came over a mile and a half, with Augustin Madamet aboard once again. Chasing the leaders for much of the way, the bay was pushed along on the turn for home and gained the advantage with two and a half furlongs left to race. He stayed on well under pressure to score by three parts of a length.

Bred by Dayton Investments and racing under the Ballymore Thoroughbreds banner, Milestone is closely related to dual Stakes winner Mask Of Time (Holy Roman Emperor) and the Listed-placed Mahari. Their dam is a winning half-sister to 1,000 Guineas heroine Miss France, while their dam is the top-class race mare Miss Tahiti.
