West End Victory (Westerner) Wins Bumper On Debut at Thurles

Well Bred Westerner Mare Delivers On Debut

The well-related West End Victory (5m Westerner - Zara’s Victory, by Old Vic) made a perfect start to her career in the mares’ bumper at Thurles on Thursday.

A full-sister to dual Listed winner Western Victory (Westerner), the Willie Mullins-trained newcomer was sent off favourite for the two mile contest and was ridden to chase the leaders by Jody Townend. Leading on the turn for home, she was pushed along from two furlongs out and dug deep when asked inside the final furlong. Running on well, she prevailed by half a length on the line.

West End Victory is owned by Syndicates Racing and was bred by Tim Conroy.
