West Goes to $310,000 for Mendelssohn Filly

Mendelssohn was responsible for the eighth most expensive yearling of the Fasig-Tipton July Sale on Tuesday when Jacob West purchased a filly out of Rose Mine for $310,000.

Offered by Gainesway, the filly is the second out a Street Cry daughter of Galileo’s Reach The Stars. A winner herself, Reach The Stars is a half-sister to champion and four-time Grade I winner Escena, who has four stakes performers under her name.

This filly is from the second crop of Mendelssohn, who has a winner in Saudi Arabia and six other placers from his first 13 runners.
