Wootton Bassett Filly Maintains Perfect Record At Saint Cloud

The Andre Fabre-trained Zellie (2f Wootton Bassett - Sarai, by Nathaniel) produced a smart turn of foot to make it two from two at Saint-Cloud on Tuesday.

Successful over six furlongs at the venue last month, the Lavinia Fabre-owned bay appeared to enjoy the better ground and step up to seven furlongs in the Class 2 Prix Arbele. Caught between horses in the straight, she pounced when a gap appeared and quickened well to win by half a length under Mickael Barzalona.

A €140,000 foal buy, Zellie was bred by Charles Barel out of a half-sister to Speciosa (Danehill Dancer).
