Syros (Wootton Bassestt) winning at Chantilly

Wootton Bassett Newcomer Prevails At Chantilly

The well-bred Syros (2c Wootton Bassett - Playing Trix, by War Front) made a perfect start to his career in Sunday’s seven furlong maiden at Chantilly.

Francis-Henri Graffard’s charge was positioned at the back of the field by Hugo Journiac and began to improve from halfway. Pushed along two furlongs from home, he quickened to lead approaching the final furlong and dug deep to deny a late challenge in the shadow of the post.

Owned and bred by Ecurie D’Authuit, Syros becomes the second winner by Wootton Bassett out of the unraced War Front mare Playing Trix, herself a half-sister to Cursory Glance.
