Wootton Bassett Saving Best for Inglis Easter
Yearling buyers have been all over the first Australian bred progeny of proven Group I sire Wootton Bassett at major sales this year and the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale promises to take demand to a new level with a stellar selection of 26 youngsters on offer at Riverside Stables including 15 presented by Coolmore.
Wootton Bassett had 32 yearlings sell at Magic Millions in January at an average $465,625 with his top sellers a filly from Avantage that sold for $2.1million and a colt from Fiera Vista that sold for $1.6million.
Those statistics should easily be matched or bettered at Inglis Easter with a galaxy of stars that include Lot 329, the second foal of Champion 3YO Filly Sunlight, who was bought by Coolmore for $4.2million as a broodmare prospect at the conclusion of her racing career which yielded three G1 victories among 11 wins with $6.5 million in prizemoney.
Other pedigree highlights for Wootton Bassett in the Coolmore draft include:
Lot 18 is a stunning colt from Group I NZ Oaks winner Fanatic.
Lot 159 is the first foal (a filly) from Group I ATC Canterbury Stakes winner Mizzy
Lot 228 is the second foal (a filly) from Group I SAJC South Australian Derby winner Qafila.
Lot 252 is the half-sister to multiple Group II winner Anaheed and stakes-winner Farooq from Group I SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes winner Rostova.
Lot 451is the half-brother to Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Madame Pommery from Cancel.
