Zoffany Filly Produces Taking Display On Return

Lyzbeth (3f Zoffany - Arcangela, by Galileo) made a winning three-year-old return when taking the seven furlong Novice Stakes at Doncaster on Friday.

Fifth on her sole start last season over six furlongs at Ascot, she was ridden to track the leader, favourite and previous winner Lady Lawyer, by Rob Hornby. Producing a challenge two furlongs from home, she led entering the final furlong and kept on well to beat the aforementioned favourite by two lengths and a quarter.

Trained by Martyn Meade and owned by Mantonbury Stud, Lyzbeth was bred by SAS Elevage Du Haras De Bourgeauville out of a half-sister to Group 3 winner Plantagenet.
