Lightly raced entire Corporate Jungle (4h Giant’s Causeway x Lady Carson, by Carson City) scored a soft victory in the $76,000 Elkwood Stakes at Monmouth on the weekend.
A last start winner of the Grade III Appleton Stakes at Gulfstream, the Chad Brown trained four year-old settled fourth early before cruising up three wide to take the one mile contest on turf by half a length.
“I rode him like he was much the best; I had plenty of horse the whole way around,” said winning rider Paco Lopez.
“I went a little wide turning for home, but I knew I had the winner. He did it all pretty easily.”
A $210,000 purchase from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Corporate Jungle runs for the Gary and Mary West Stables and is a brother to stakes-winner Followmyfootsteps from stakes-winner Lady Carson.
