First Stakes Win for Slamit

Lightly raced colt Slamit (3c Grand Slam x Excedius, by Seattle Dancer) landed his first stakes victory when taking out the $50,000 Spring Chrylser Jeep-Dodge Stakes at Sam Houston Park.

Trained by Tim Ice, he took the one mile contest by half a length, his overall record now two wins and a third from six starts.

A half-brother to stakes-placed Seven Grand, Slamit is one of three winners from Excedius, a half-sister to stakes-winners Beyond the Waves and Seahawk Gold as well as to the dam of Grade I winner Bordonaro.

Slamit is the 68th stakes-winner for Grand Slam, who is enjoying a hot run of success.
