Three-year-olds Tableaux (3c Giant’s Causeway-Golden Antigua, by Hansel) and Just Pretending (3f Giant’s Causeway-Moon Safari, by Mr Prospector) landed a Group race double for Giant’s Causeway when advertising their Classic credentials on Sunday.
The Andre Fabre-trained Tableaux, a G1 Derby entry, followed up last month’s G2 Prix Noailles victory when capturing the G2 Prix Hocquart China Horse Club at Longchamp under Maxime Guyon.
Guyon told JDG: “Tableaux confirmed the results of his preceding races. He showed great courage and strength.”
Meanwhile at Leopardstown on Sunday, Aidan O’Brien saddled the progressive Just Pretending to take the G3 1,000 Guineas Trial and she could now line up in Classic company at the Curragh.
“She has loads of ability and she showed that last time at Navan,” said O’Brien. “She could go for the Irish 1,000 Guineas now and she might step up to a mile and a quarter. She is a fine big filly.”
